The number of fatal wrecks by teen drivers has recently grown. How can parents of teens keep this from happening to them? There are some excellent resources on the Teen Drivers page of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website. Why should parents be firm about their teen drivers practicing good driving safety? We think this is the best answer:

“Young drivers, ages 15- to 20-years old, are especially vulnerable to death and injury on our roadways – traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers in America. Mile for mile, teenagers are involved in three times as many fatal crashes as all other drivers.” (http://www.nhtsa.gov/Driving+Safety/Teen+Drivers)
